Spain and Italy (Sparkling Wine)

The Cava Rosado is possibly my favourite pink sparkling wine. In Spain, Cava is the standout, primarily produced in Catalonia using native grapes like Macabeo, Xarel·lo, and Parellada. It’s made using the traditional method, offering crisp acidity and notes of citrus, green apple, and almond. In Italy, the most famous sparkling wine is Prosecco, made mainly from Glera grapes in the Veneto region. Produced via the Charmat method, Prosecco is typically light, fruity, and floral, with a softer, more approachable sparkle and the Porte Nova is hard to beat. Both styles are beloved for their quality, value, and celebratory character.
