ABOUT THE WINERY:
At the end of 19th century, Francesco Rocca started his historical business in 'draught' wine. In 1936 his son Angelo enhanced the wine production and built up a cellar in Nardò, Apulia. In the 1960's, Ernesto Rocca, Angelo's son, bought the first bottling line and started the distribution of products under the Rocca brand. In 1999, his great love of Apulia and its vines led him to buy a farm in Leverano, in the heart of Salento.

In 2009, Rocca Family became the major shareholder of the historical winery Dezzani in Piedmont realizing new commercial and production synergies.

The passion for ageing wines in oak barrels has been handed down through five generations of the Rocca family.
The delicate choice of worthy wines to refine in our winery, the patient waiting and choosing of the right moment to bottle has always been exciting.

Long experience, together with the joy of handing down knowledge through the generations, ensure the production of wines of a unique nature, which are now recognized in over 40 countries.
L'Azienda Agricola di Rocca is made up of the two estates ''Don Cataldo'' and ''Vignali Grandi'' covering approximately 100 hectares, and is located around three kilometres from the splendid Ionian coast, in Leverano, in the heart of Salento.

The land is an average blend of clayey-calcareous soil, even tufaceous in some places.

The influence of the sea and the mild climate of this region, together with a passion for management, modern technologies and a great care in the selection of the grapes, allows consistent production to an excellent level.

The native vines Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Nero di Troia and Primitivo, are the greatest expression of these prolific and fruitful lands and contribute to the region's wines, such as Leverano DOC. Montepulciano and Lambrusco varietals with the 'international' Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, established in recent years, are already showing their own superb characteristics. As far as the white grapes are concerned, Rocca grow the youngest and most curious Vermentino together with a generous and excellent Chardonnay.

To make this place unique the old farm was renovated in keeping with the typical aspects of Salento's rural tradition.
