Description

5eme Cru Classe St Estephe

A property that we have followed for nearly 30 years and which, since the quite excellent 2003 vintage, has been offering one of the best values amongst the crus classes. The 18 hectares of vines are ideally situated next to Cos d'Estournel along with a parcel behind Lafon-Rochet.

Since 1971, the Audoy family have owned the rising star of St. Estephe, Chateau Cos Labory, a 12-hectare estate which is immediately opposite its renowned neighbour, Cos d'Estournel. We started buying wines from the Audoys back in the late 1970's but it was not really until 1986 that the chateau's true potential was realised when the family undertook to invest in a new cuverie and introduced a stricter selection process for the first (main) wine. In recent vintages, the wines have had great extraction and matiere, representing some of the best value when it comes to cru classe drinking.
