Christmas Wine Gifts 2024 Top Ten

Oh what to give as a gift this year ? With so many wines and spirits available at this time of year it's easy to get lost in the miasma of mediocrity. With CPW we guarantee every on of our suggestions will be joyfully received and consumed with festive cheer.
1. A CPW Gift Voucher. I know it's not a physical bottle of wine but giving someone else the choice, whereas you might love Valpolicella and they love New Zealand white wine, easily solves the conundrum of 'what DO they like to drink ?'.
2. Mousehall Gin in a Gift Box. Lovingly wrapped in tissue paper in a beautifully designed box, this is a perfectly-balanced juniper forward gin with hints of fresh citrus, cardamom and Rooibos. £48.60 per 70cl bottle.
3. A CPW mixed case of wine. All our mixed cases are at discounted rates and all include Free Delivery (Mainland UK). Just like red wine ? Discover our spicy mixed case of winter reds or our luxury French Red case. White wine mixed case also available and a mix of both red and whites for those who love both.  Starting at just £70 per case.
4. Chablis, Domaine Pinson. Who doesn't love a glass of crisp, mineral filled Chablis ? Bright, vibrant, pure, refreshing, aromatic, loaded with gout de pierre fusil (gunflint taste), and perfectly balanced between ripe fruit and lemony, green apple, acidity. £27.70 per bottle.
5. Wholly Smoke Blended Scotch Whisky. All-Malt blend combining the unmistakable whiff of Islay smokiness with subtle Speyside creaminess. Un-chillfiltered and bottled at 46% ABV, a delicious nip or mixed into our favourite Wholly Sour cocktail. This is our first release handcrafted from 4 of the finest casks of Islay and Speyside Malts to make the perfect sipping Scotch. £46.30 per 70cl bottle

6. Champagne Gremillet Brut 'Ambassadeur' NVOur 'House' Champagne made from a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. This is excellent value for money and has a lovely elegant 'mousse' ('mousse' is a term used with sparkling wines to describe the finesse of the bubbles within the wine). The high proportion of Pinot Noir in the blend results in a champagne that is quite creamy in texture and has a lovely depth of fruit. Perfect as a gift or for festive celebrations. £33.40 per bottle.

7. Churchill's Vintage 2011 Port. "IN ALL MY 39 VINTAGES I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED YOUNG PORTS WITH SUCH COLOUR, STRUCTURE AND INTENSITY."

"The sheer fruit intensity of the Churchill’s 2011 Vintage is still very much present within its tannic structure. I think it will give more and more pleasure as years go by and It is certainly a Vintage Port with which to celebrate the turn of the next century." - Johnny Graham, 2021. £106.70 per bottle

8. Chateau Beard la Chapelle 2020, Grand Cru St Emilion, Bordeaux. With a mix of blackcurrant and vanilla aromas lifted by a fresh note of aniseed, this opulent wine is well-balanced with layers of rich black fruit flavours and a long mineral finish that is silky smooth. £24.65 per bottle

9. Arak, Massaya, Lebanon. EL Massaya means the dusk and in the Bekaa, the sky at dusk is the same dark blue that is found on these traditional Lebanese arak bottles. The mezze is usually a combination of flavors difficult to pair with wines. Therefore, we recommend El Massaya arak with the traditional Lebanese mezze. Indeed, the aniseed taste refreshes the palate and makes every bite a great experience. In order to appreciate it fully, fill one third of the glass with this superior arak and top off two thirds of fresh water and then add several ice cubes. £42.50 per 50cl bottle

10. One of a Kind 'Extraordinary' Case of Mixed French Wines. If you're feeling particularly generous, these are all wonderful French red wines, not usually available as single bottles. £400.00
