Description

The colour is deep and golden. The bouquet is rich with an almost honeyed buttery intensity. The viscosity of the wine (its legs) suggest a wine of great concentration and the palate clearly delivers. Notes of honey again with that elegant, fat Chardonnay buttery richness. The acidity is in perfect balance and the intense flavour lingers on the palate for a good while. Hard not to enjoy now this wine will still keep happily for another 3 to 4 years. Pure joy and an absolute must for everyone! 13% abv

Fuisse is the pinnacle of white Maconnais production. This Fuisse is very concentrated and ripe with delicate nutty flavours and overtones of acacia. 30% of the assemblage sees moderate oak-ageing, thereby acting as a support rather than a dominant factor.

Gilles Mathias has been running this immaculate estate since the mid-1990?s with the continued support of his father, Jean. We first started buying wines from Jean over twenty five years ago and we have seen this estate improve in quality ever since.
